BOTOX Injections: An Effective Solution for Wrinkles, Facial Asymmetry, and Excessive Perspiration

It can smooth the look of wrinkles and lines between the brows, around the eyes, and in the horizontal lines across the forehead. Dr. Morrissette's BOTOX injections can also be used to relax tight bands in the neck, balance facial asymmetry, and reduce perspiration. Because of genetics and other factors, lines can begin appearing on the face as early as the late twenties.

BOTOX is a substance that may be injected for cosmetic as well as medical purposes.

What is BOTOX?

Botox is a nonsurgical, minimally invasive, FDA-approved injectable treatment that helps prevent or smooth facial wrinkles, including forehead lines, the “11s” between the brows, crow’s feet around the eyes, and wrinkles around the nose, mouth, and chin.

Botox is a substance made from a low, safe amount of purified botulinum toxin. Botox temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles. When injected into the targeted area or areas of the face, the wrinkles and crease lines instantly smooth and fade away, leaving a smooth, youthful appearance.

Our BOTOX in Ventura, Oxnard, and Camarillo, CA, can reverse the clock or prevent wrinkles from forming ahead of time.

What Are the Benefits of BOTOX Treatments?

What Can Botox Do For Me?

Botox provides a smoother, more youthful and refreshed appearance. For clients who are younger, Botox can be used as a preventative measure to help delay the onset of wrinkles, which can keep you looking younger for significantly longer. For clients who have already noticed facial wrinkles, Botox helps reduce or eliminate wrinkles and fine lines, and creates smoother, more youthful and a beautifully rejuvenated appearance.

Botox achieves this with a very short, painless treatment that requires no downtime or recovery period, although some brief, mild swelling or redness may occur.

Patient's Botox Review with Dr. Morrissette

Today I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Morrissette and his staff in Ventura for BOTOX. They were very, very pleasant and helpful. I've had fillers in the past as well as facial peels and had questions in regards to if I needed more at the time of visit.

He advised that my fillers were still in place and extra was not needed at this time. He did a great consultation in regards to the BOTOX and advised minimal was needed and only placed in that area. I appreciate when doctors are honest and do not suggest additional procedures for the sake of earning more money. I will definitely go back in the future and cannot wait to see the BOTOX settle in. I am referring all my friends to him moving forward!

BOTOX FAQs

Will BOTOX help prevent wrinkles?

Yes. This product works to slow the action of the facial muscles treated. These tiny muscles contract hundreds of times a day, and eventually the facial skin develops a wrinkle, which eventually can turn into a crease. Keep these muscles from constantly contracting makes it possible to stave off the appearance of wrinkles.

I have heard that BOTOX makes your face appear “frozen.” Is that true?

If the product is incorrectly applied, that effect could occur. That is why it is so critical that you only receive these treatments from a highly-qualified cosmetic surgeon. A full evaluation of the muscle structure in your face is necessary to create a natural, fresher, appearance that does not look frozen. Dr. Morrissette is a leader in the field of facial cosmetic surgery, and has an extensive background in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He focuses on patient safety, and using the most innovative medical procedures and techniques, including BOTOX, to create a natural, more youthful facial appearance.

Is getting BOTOX painful?

The procedure is typically slightly painful unless the area is pre-treated with a topical anesthetic, or ice can be used to assist in numbing the area so the sensation of the “pinch” of an injection is reduced.

At what age should you start your BOTOX treatments?

Once you see the beginning of the appearance of wrinkles in those fine lines, it is the right time to start your treatments. This could occur as early as the mid-twenties, or earlier for some who have a genetic factor and a propensity for the skin to wrinkle at an early age. As this product has been on the market for many years, there are thousands of patients who have had consistent treatments for many years – and are enjoying the fact that they have fewer wrinkles and creases than others their age.

How long does it take to get BOTOX?

This is a fast procedure, requiring only about 10 to 20 minutes to complete. Prior to your treatment, your face, skin, and underlying facial muscle structure must be evaluated so that the proper injection sites are selected.

How long will my BOTOX treatment last?

The treatment is generally effective for about three to four months. Every person is different, and some may not need another treatment for a longer or shorter time.

Can BOTOX get rid of crow’s feet?

The product was FDA-approved for the treatment of crow’s feet (canthal lines) in 2013. It was already approved for the temporary treatment of frown lines. It is also approved for the temporary improvement of glabellar lines (wrinkles between the eyebrows, or “frown lines.”)

Is BOTOX the same as botulism?

Although BOTOX is related to the same toxin, when used in tiny doses, it is extremely effective in treating certain facial flaws. It functions to block certain nerves or by weakening specific muscles. The cosmetic is highly purified protein derived from this toxin. The doses used in cosmetic treatments are extremely small, and FDA approval means that when used correctly, the product is safe for use on consumers. However, it is important that the medical professional administering BOTOX is highly educated, and has a full understanding of facial muscles and nerves.
