Dr. Morrissette uses radiowave technology for mole removal in Ventura & Santa Barbara, as this process leaves minimal scarring, which is particularly important for facial moles. This high-tech procedure allows for a mole to be removed that other surgeons may have even advised against. If you have concerns about a facial mole, or have been told that the scar will be worse than the appearance of the mole, get an evaluation at our clinic, as an almost scarless removal may be possible in your case. Living with a mole or wart on your face can negatively impact your self-confidence, and removing it with radiowave technology can restore your self-esteem, and resolve your concerns about being left with a noticeable, large scar.

The Advantages of Radiowave Surgery for Mole Removal

Moles must be evaluated to determine if they are benign. Oddly-shaped moles or skin lesions must be removed and biopsied to ensure that they are not malignant, or pre-malignant, for your peace of mind. The use of radiowave surgery has many significant advantages for the patient, including:

  • A largely "scarless" procedure.
  • Predictable results.
  • Less heat and lateral damage.
  • Speed of mole removal.
  • No incision necessary.
  • No stitches required.

How Does the Radiowave Process Work for Mole Removal?

Radiowave technology is an advancement that has proven to be exceptionally effective. The process involves a very fine platinum wire, about as thick as a human hair, which is electrically charged with radiowaves, and then brushed lightly over the mole surface, essentially vaporizing the mole. The surface of the mole, wart, or skin tag is removed, and the blood in the vessels beneath are coagulated so that no bleeding takes place.

The mole removal Santa Barbara treatment is completed very quickly, with no pain. After completion, the skin in the area appear reddish in color, and a small scab will form. After about one week, the new skin has formed and becomes visible. Over a short period of time, the area will fade to match your surrounding skin. You will be completely comfortable during the process of mole removal, as the area being treated will be numbed with local anesthetic. As there is no need for cutting or stitches, the procedure is less invasive and your facial skin is left with minimal scarring.

Complications are extremely rare, similar to other mole removal procedures. For some, the mole will reappear, although this is very uncommon, estimated to be in about 1% of the cases and requiring retreatment of the mole area.

Advanced Technology Brings Better Results: Minimal Scarring

The use of this cutting-edge mole removal Ventura technology can provide you with confidence that your facial moles or warts can be removed without leaving you with unsightly scars. As the procedure does not involve incisions or stitches, scarring is much less likely. No surgeon can promise a completely scar-free procedure, but a mole removal that is scar-free, or leaves minimal scarring is not uncommon with the use of this advanced process.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19 View Update Virtual Consultation

The COVID-19 epidemic has created unprecedented circumstances for our community. Our practice has been paying close attention to the guidelines put in place by the government and the CDC and we want to reassure you that, as always, your health and well-being is our primary concern.

With this in mind, we are offering virtual consultations to patients via face time, however face-to-face in office consultation are still available. To schedule a virtual consultation or in office consultation call our office at (805)-214-4034.

Please know that we are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and doing our part to make sure that you are protected.

  • We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by the CDC. Our preventative measures include:
  • Fully training all staff members to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.
  • Asking all staff, vendors and ancillary personnel to refrain from coming to the office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Asking every patient to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms and inquiring about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing, as this continues to be the most important mode of prevention. Although it is something that we have always constantly done, we are now doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • Constantly sanitizing all surfaces (which we have always done as an accredited facility). However, we have now increased this routine and are wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities multiple times each day.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this country even better than it currently is. We are closely monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will update our practice’s guidelines as needed to protect our patients.
